Possible severe storms forecast

With the Bureau of Meteorology predicting possible severe thunderstorms for large parts of southeast Queensland over the coming few days, we’re reminding everyone to make sure they’re storm ready.

In the case of a severe storm you should:

  • Move cars under cover or away from trees.
  • Secure loose outdoor items.
  • Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
  • Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
  • Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
  • Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
  • For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.
  • Listen to ABC 612 am or Bay FM 100.3 and follow our website, twitter and social media
  • for updates.
