Following the Redlands/Southern Moreton Bay Islands Place Project consultation throughout 2007- 2008, Redlands City Council has undertaken to consult with the community for ideas and visions for a welcome sign at Macleay Island.
Interested artists and designers are invited to submit their CV, with the view to participating at a public forum to be held on Wednesday, 31 March at 6:00pm – 8:30pm at the Macleay Island Community Centre.
Up to three artists will be selected to attend the evening to produce a creative representation of the discussion on the Welcome Sign, drawing from the ideas and debate from the residents.
A $800 (GST inc) fee for service will be provided to the chosen Artists, who will be able to then have one week to finish the drawings. The art work will be presented to the community, along with all of the information collected throughout the consultation period, for consideration and comments.
Final design and installation for the Welcome Sign will be awarded at a later date.
